ONORIENT is an independent media and cultural agency that detects, shares and spreads the creative momentum of the Maghreb, the Middle East and their diasporas.
In 2015, a part of ONORIENT‘s team decided to live a modern-day Rihla, called OnOrientour. For six months, Oumayma, Hajar and Mehdi travelled throughout North Africa and the Middle East to understand the region’s artistic effervescence and its particularities.
From Morocco to Jordan, via Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt and Lebanon, these three explorers met nearly 130 artists and cultural actors. During this expedition, a question emerged: what is it to be Arab? They will ask it to all the artists they meet on their way. These journeys gave rise to the road-documentary Rihla, on the cultural paths of the Arab world.
