Infinity Angle

Intervener: Youness Atbane
Date: 27 to 29 September 2017
Location: Museum of African Contemporary Art Al Maaden, Marrakech

For the inauguration of MACAAL Lab in 2016, the museum exhibited InfinityAngle, architecture de l’absence (Architecture of Absence), a multimedia installation by the Moroccan artist Youness Atbane, in collaboration with the Pyxilone collective.

A three-day workshop was also led by the artist and the MACAAL team for students studying a Masters in Design at ESAV (École Supérieure d’Arts Visuels), Marrakech.

In addition to learning about the creative process of an artist, the workshop participants had the opportunity to assess and implement mapping; a digital technique that helps project visual animations in two- or three-dimensions on all types of relief structures.
