The brainchild of MACAAL and cultural engineering agency A Million Dots, MACAAL Bootcamp was incepted in 2020 with the ambition to incubate the projects of emerging African professionals in the contemporary and visual arts sector.

The Bootcamp responds to the dynamism of the contemporary art sector in Africa with an impact-centered approach. A short-duration program, it offers to each participant the possibility to build a professional roadmap thanks to a network of renowned Panafrican mentors, including Koyo Kouoh, Founder of Raw Material Company (Dakar) and Director of the Zeitz MOCAA (Capetown), Touria El Glaoui, founder of the African contemporary Art Fair 1-54 (London- New-York- Marrakech), Teesa Bahana, Director of 32° East Ugandan Arts Trust (Kampala), and Marie-Cécile Zinsou, President of the Zinsou Foundation (Ouidah, Cotonou).

MACAAL Bootcamp 2021 will provide a socially-distanced, 5-week timeframe in June-July 2021 and will allow each participant to work remotely towards accelerating and achieving one professional ambition within the field of project development, management and fundraising.

NB: We are recommitting our 2020 Bootcamp opening class to encourage reinforcement and resilience. Applications are not open to the public.
