Presented at MACAAL between 25 March 2017 and 5 February 2018, E-Mois: Autobiography of a Collection (Trans. Emotions, Autobiography of a collection) offers a sensitive and introspective reading of the museum’s collection. Conceived as a first-person narrative, the exhibition presents the collection as a living entity shaped by choices, encounters and emotions. Works from modern Moroccan art and contemporary African creation enter into dialogue across generations and aesthetic approaches, revealing a story built on resonance, movement and continuity. Through this journey, MACAAL reflects on the very notion of a collection — not as a fixed ensemble, but as an autobiography in constant evolution.
